Tarraco
The amphitheater has an outer dimensions of 111.5 x 86.5 m. and its capacity has been calculated for some 14,000 spectators. Located outside the city, between it and the sea, Tarragona Amphitheatre stands next to the entrance north of the Via Augusta, taking advantage of the special topography of the area and adapt to the topography of the land. Part of the steps were carved into the rock while in the sectors closest to the sea, they are supported directly on solid silos and vaults inclined caementicium opus.
